Title: Is Live Video Really Useful?

Hello,

A lot of marketers wonder if live video is really useful as
a marketing tool. After all, don’t we already have webinars?

But the truth is, live video can actually be a LOT more
useful than webinars for several reasons.

First, webinars can be quite expensive. Software to run a
webinar can be pricey whether you buy it upfront or just use
a service that charges an ongoing monthly fee.

Live video streaming, on the other hand, is usually free.

Another reason that live video is better than webinars is
because neither you nor your viewers has to learn a new
platform. Webinar software can be tricky to set up and use
for both hosts and viewers, but live video is generally no
harder to use than Facebook or YouTube, which many people
are already familiar with.

Some people don’t like webinars because they feel intimidating,
but live video often uses the same platforms they are
already used to, so it feels a lot more natural and
comfortable.

Another major benefit of using live video over webinars is
the fact that most webinars are limited in some way as far
as the number of attendees. Some have hard limits that
cannot be exceeded because of the webinar platform’s rules.
Others simply cannot handle a large number of visitors without
stuttering or even crashing.

Using a live streaming platform such as Facebook or YouTube
will practically guarantee that you can have as many attendees
as you could possibly reach without any problems. Their
servers can handle it.

It’s also useful that your live streams are usually recorded
and left on the site so that those who couldn’t attend live
can watch them later.

Plus, many platforms will actually promote your live stream
for you. For example, they may have special sections that
promote streams that are currently live or that are upcoming.

If you think about it, live video has the same features as
most webinar platforms. You can make your presentation via
live video and use comments just like you would in a webinar.
They are quite similar, but live video doesn’t have the
limitations or expense of webinars.

The only major difference would be the fact that you can’t
have multiple presenters in a live stream as you could in a
webinar, however this can easily be overcome buy connecting
to the other user via something like Skype or FaceTime and
showing your computer screen on the live stream.

Tomorrow, we’re going to talk about some of the ways you
can use live video for marketing, so don’t miss it!
